Miss World – A Farcical Blonde Contest

My first and only foray in judging a beauty contest was in Tirelo Setshaba in Chobe where I was serving my nation diligently. I am not sure what exactly the name of the contest was because contests trade under different names like Miss 4B, Miss Twantsho Borukutlhi, which is a contest meant to ‘celebrate’ or highlight crime issues (some of the contestants looked criminal even), Miss Forestry, Miss Chobe Enclave, Miss Independence, Miss Big Bum and so on and so forth.

I earned my spot on the judges table after passing through a strict screening procedure that had two questions.

1. Have you stayed in GC? 2. Do you have a dinner belt?
