Mojadigo of Divine Anointing Church who is out on bail faces similar charges before the Mochudi's Magistrate Court where he is facing five counts of rape and defilement altogether. “We are ready to proceed with this matter as prosecution and I am in fact ready to serve the accused with witnesses’ statements for appraisal. We have a total of 11 statements from our witnesses,” she said. The state prosecutor further said that their case against Mojadigo has been tightened with a medical report from the victim. Given a chance to comment on the update from the state, Mojadigo told the presiding Magistrate Daniel Nkau that he had nothing to say.
Next mention date has been set for November 18, 2024 before the Village Magistrate's Court by Nkau who further ordered that the accused shall remain on bail until the next mention. But before appearing for the next mention, the prophet will also appear before a different court for a four-day trial at Mochudi Magistrate Court. As Mojadigo juggles in different cases from the two courts, he will have to defend himself in a trial before Magistrate Queen Moanga from November 4-7 for the five counts of rape and defilement. Since his first arrest, Mojadigo’s case sparked a lot of debates, especially from the human rights activists. Human rights activists would show up at the magistrate’s courts with placards to display their discontentment of the charges of the accused. From the start the human rights activists and some of the church members have always shown up at court.
However, during Mojadigo’s appearance the activists were a no show for the first time since he appeared before courts. While he waits for the day for his trial at Mochudi and next mention date at Village, Mojadigo was reminded of his bail conditions which include not engaging in church activities more importantly his church Divine Anointing Church. The accused was also reminded not to come close to the state witnesses.
