Michael Dingake dies at 96

The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) has announced the passing of its founding President, Michael Kitso Dingake.

A statement from the BCP reads: “It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that the Botswana Congress Party informs the BCP family, all Batswana and the international community of the passing of its founding President, cde Michael Kitso Dingake after a short illness.

The end came today the 7 April at about 1600hrs, when cde Dingake took his last breath. "Michael Kitso Dingake was an outstanding revolutionary who spent 15 years in Robben island with the late Mandela and other freedom fighters. Cde Dingake name will be known as long as the world stands. The public will be appraised of all future developments in due course.” Michael Dingake was born on the 11th of February 1928.
