Creatives to honour Tshwenyego

Family, friends, colleagues and members of Botswana’s creative industry will tomorrow gather for the memorial service of the late Kgomotso Tshwenyego, whose contribution to the country’s entertainment sector has been widely recognised.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday at the BTV Auditorium in Gaborone from 2pm to 6pm. According to organisers, the event will celebrate Tshwenyego’s life, achievements and impact on the arts industry, where she played a significant role over the years. Artists, media practitioners and members of the public are expected to attend the service to pay their last respects and honour her legacy. Tshwenyego is remembered by many within the creative sector as a passionate supporter of the arts who contributed to the growth and development of Botswana’s entertainment industry. The organisers encourage members of the media to cover the event, saying the memorial service will provide an opportunity for the nation to reflect on Tshwenyego’s contribution to the creative arts community. The service is expected to feature tributes, reflections and performances in celebration of her life.
