President Mokgweetsi Masisi bid farewell to his dear friend, Namibian President Dr Hage Geingob, with profound sadness and utmost respect. From the moment of Geingob's passing, Masisi's expressions of grief were sincere and immediate, demonstrating his deep bond with the late statesman.

Amongst the first world leaders to offer condolences, Masisi's visit to Namibia exemplified the strength of their friendship.

The Botswana government donated 45 vehicles for the funeral arrangements, showcasing Masisi's commitment to honouring Geingob's memory. "Following the announcement of the passing on of Geingob, I directed that flags fly at half-mast throughout Botswana until Geingob is laid to rest," Masisi declared during a public statement to Parliament.
