GU lost to Jwaneng Galaxy in an absorbing encounter which was decided by penalties. Galaxy joined Orapa United, TAFIC and First Division side, UB Hawks who are the only team remaining from the lower divisions. Hawks claimed the scalp of Police XI on Saturday to progress to a historic semi-final spot. The semi-final draw was conducted on Sunday after a marathon penalty shoot-out between GU and Galaxy which ended in 13-12 in favour of the mining town-based side.
Galaxy is pitied against Hawks while the Ostriches will take on TAFIC. The semi-finals take place at the National Stadium on Saturday with UB Hawks and Galaxy kicking-off proceedings at 4pm while TAFIC and Orapa meet at 8pm. Galaxy is on the verge of completing a double and put their name in the history books of local football. Lesagaripa are the favourites to win the Botswana Premier League (BPL) as they have 10-point lead from second placed Township Rollers with seven games remaining.
