The reigning Miss Botswana queen, Anicia Gaothusi, will embark on her maiden voyage to her home village, Tutume, at the end of this month since being crowned Miss Botswana 2024 back in March.

The visit is on May 31 at the Tutume main kgotla. In a statement released by the Miss Botswana management team, Gaothusi’s visit to her home village is a long planned event to accord her the opportunity to celebrate with the community that raised her.

“Miss Botswana is thrilled to announce a homecoming ceremony in honour of the newly crowned Miss Botswana 2024, Anicia Gaothusi,” read the statement. Miss Botswana has pleaded with Tutume residents to rally behind Gaothusi by coming in numbers to her homecoming. “Batswana are invited to join welcoming Ms Gaothusi back to her home village in a celebration to be filled with song, dance, and pride. This ceremony will be a momentous occasion, symbolising the unity and support of the nation behind Gaothusi,” read the statement.
