Former Cabinet Minister and Serowe South MP, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi has this morning officially submitted her name as an aspirant candidate for the post of president of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) to the elective congress set for Kang on April 5.

She also attached letters of sponsorship from 50 delegates as per the party’s constitutional requirement.

Venson-Moitoi is however crying foul as she complains that the BDP’s unprecedented presidential election “was rigged from day one”. Speaking at a press conference at Planet Lodge in Gaborone today, Venson-Moitoi cited a long list of what she termed as “irregularities” in the party’s presidential campaign trail.
