Botswana moves closer to Universal Health Coverage

The Ministry of Health hosted a national validation workshop for the Draft National Health Insurance (NHI) Policy at the Ave Maria Hotel on Friday, marking a significant milestone in the country's journey towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Delivering the keynote address, the Minister of Health, Dr Stephen Modise, emphasised the importance of the NHI policy, stating that it underscores the government's commitment to uplifting the health and well-being of every Motswana.

"Healthcare is no mere service; it is the bedrock of dignity, equity, and our nation's progress," he said.
