Health app developer wins start-up contest

A healthcare web platform, Yapili won the Botswana round of Seedstars World and will represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland to compete for up to $1 million(P10 million) in equity investment and other prizes.

Seedstars World, the global seed-stage start-up competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes brought its Botswana round to a successful close during last week’s Seedstars Gaborone contest.

The event took place last Friday at the University of Botswana and nine selected start-ups were invited to present their ideas in front of the local jury panel.
