Ramotswa police investigate armed robbery

Police are investigating a case in which a married couple was recently attacked and robbed with something that resembled a gun by five armed unknown men at Taung Farms on the outskirts of Ramotswa.

Through a media release, Botswana Police Service spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Dipheko Motube said on the fateful night around 8pm, the robbers took two laptops, a camera, two cell phones, car keys, and keys to the business premises and fled the crime scene. Motube further revealed that, then, the criminals went away with seven firearms of different types and ammunition. “The stolen firearms were two short guns, three rifles, and two pellet guns. Six of the guns and two SIM cards were later recovered in the nearby bush while one rifle and live rounds of ammunition have not yet been recovered,” Motube explained. “We appeal to members of the public to report any suspicious characters they may come across to the nearest police station.”
