MAHALAPYE: Residents of Mahalapye and surrounding areas on Friday thronged the newly opened Cresta Hotel to witness what was yet to be another exciting selection of My Star top five and live performance from the hopeful contestants.

The six remaining contestants, Ontefetse, Noah, Kagiso, Tebogo, Hailey, and Gaone together with their judges earlier travelled here as their final show down to the anticipated grand finale.  It is only a few days left before the selection of the top three and a week before the winner walks away with a cash prize and a recording deal.Meanwhile, the show still proved to be a hit with the local fans as the turn up was much better from what it has been in Gaborone for the past weeks and it was only fair that the audience got treated to an epic battle for a place in the top five with interesting duet performances before the elimination round.

Noah and Ontefetse who both proved to have a huge following among the audience had to battle it twice before the other one was saved in the next round since the judges failed to come to a unanimous  decision resulting in a tie. Both the contestants remained on stage after Tebogo escaped yet again.Contestants had to work harder on their performance to outdo each other and impress the judges who were joined by a guest judge making it difficult to save one as earlier each contestant got two votes.
