Eight in race for Miss Earth Botswana crown

The grand finale of the 2011 edition of Miss Earth Botswana pageant takes place this Saturday at the Maitisong auditorium in Gaborone with eight contestants competing for the coveted crown.

Miss Earth Botswana organiser, Beatrice Barrows, said that they were looking for someone who can diligently represent the country.  She said the person should not only possess the looks but should also have extensive knowledge about the environment.

A Miss Air, Water and Fire will also be crowned at the grand finale, which is scheduled to start at 7:30pm.  The eventual winner has the choice of either representing Botswana at the international Miss Earth pageant to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 12 or she can walk away with P10,000 prize money.  Miss Air, Water and Fire winners will pocket P2,500, P2,000 and P1,500 each.
