SHARP SHOOTER: Commonwealth Billiards Championship 2025 bronze medalist, Malebogo Latlhang

Botswana continues to make its mark in the Billiards sport with another medal in the bag at the just ended Commonwealth Billiards Championship 2025 in Mauritius. Sharp shooter, Malebogo 'Millie' Latlhang, based in Selebi Phikwe roared to the semifinals in the Blackball Billiards discipline.

Latlhang overcame two opponents on her way to the semi finals before she bowed down to the eventual champion, Djajalie Klaudia in the last four category.

The achievement sets her apart as the only athlete from Botswana to attain two international events podium finishes in the Billiards discipline. Latlhang was also part of the Botswana national team that scooped silver medals at the All Africa Pool Association Blackball Championships held in South Africa two years ago. Botswana had sent four players to the inaugural competition with two taking part in the Blackball Billiards discipline while the other two took part in the Heyball discipline. In the Blackball discipline, Latlhang was joined by Oduetse 'Madudu' Rasebeka, who competed in the male category. Rasebeka was eliminated in the first round but proved he is one for the future.
