Lasty Kedisa, the annual Nkashi Classic 2023 champion for the mens category has bounced back to be crowned this year's Okavango Delta fastest poler for the youth category. Organised by the Nkashi Trust, the Nkashi Classic was held this past weekend in Seronga.
Kedisa who has competed in the race since its conception in 2018. His win is a testament of his focus and determination after unsuccessful attempts in the past two editions. Kedisa and Phixwa Resenolotswe put up the fastest overall times across the male and female categories (respectively) emerging as the Okavango Delta’s fastest mokoro polers.
The organisers of the event said this year's Nkashi Classic was one of the most highly attended since the inception of the event in 2018, welcoming nearly 90 competitors and promoting the use of mekoro and preservation of cultural heritage.
