It was BDF XI’s second successive win after their 7-1 demolition of Motlakase the previous week while Sankoyo registered a second loss on the trot after a 4-0 loss to Township Rollers.

The rejuvenated visitors mounted early pressure, forcing defender Refilwe Senyane to concede an own goal as early as the 4th minute. Both teams played aerially, with defenders most of the time bypassing their midfield. Sankoyo equalised after 24 minutes through their leading scorer, Gosaitse Manuel after he was gifted with a stray ball.
