Mandaza's terror continues

The Terrence 'Terror' Mandaza show continued on Sunday when the Zimbabwean gunslinger notched his 23rd goal of the season to steer clear of nearest rival, Musonda Mweuku of Mochudi Centre Chiefs in the race for the Green Boot Award.

Mandaza opened the scoring against BMC with a header and is now a strong contender for the P25,000 award. Blessed with intricate dribbling skills and close ball control, the burly striker has been a revelation this season and should be a firm favourite for the Player of the Season award. His exploits have carried Rollers to the summit of the table with a healthy 14 point lead. The former TASC striker has not only proved to be a reliable source of goals, but has come in handy with assists. Mweuku, the Zambian marksman who joined Chiefs this season trails Mandaza by six goals. With his team's campaign seemingly faltering, he has lost ground on Mandaza. He had the opportunity to close the gap last night when his team faced BDF XI in a league match.

Gangly Uniao Flamengo Santos' striker, Farisai Nyamunamwendo is breathing heavily on Mweuku's neck. He has notched 16 goals, just one behind Mweuku after he scored twice against Extension Gunners on Saturday. Team-mate, Mogakolodi 'Tsotso' Ngele has 15 strikes. Ngele was outstanding against Gunners and could have added to his tally but missed a sitter when he came face to face with goalkeeper, Ntungamili Tshoganetso. The youngster, who has shown maturity beyond his age, dragged his effort wide.
