There has been low registration of women’s teams with only a few days left before the start of the Federation of International Basketball Associations (FIBA) 3x3 tournament. The month-long tournament starts on Saturday at the Stanbic Bank Piazza and runs until March 30.

The low numbers are across all women’s age groups, with five slots still unoccupied for the women’s open. The girls Under-13, -15 and -18 have 10, nine and five vacant spots as each must have 10 teams.

On the other side, there has been an overwhelming response for the men’s section with 12 teams for the open category and 10 for the Under-18 boys.  The only remaining places are in the junior categories.
