Township Rollers' exciting winger, Sekhana Koko was over the weekend included in the national team that went into camp as preparations for the 2014 World Cup and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers get underway.

Koko joined the 25-man squad that consists of only locally based players.Koko was omitted from the squad that competed at the January 21-February 12, 2012 AFCON finals co-hosted by Equatorial-Guinea and Gabon. The winger at the time never hid to express his disappointment at being left out of the team. The issue dominated the local media after Koko's outbursts where he said he could consider shunning national team call-ups as long as Stanley Tshosane was the coach. Just a few days before the team left for Gabon, Mochudi Centre Chiefs' winger, Joel Mogorosi withdrew from the team after picking up an injury on his arm. Many had thought Koko would be an obvious replacement, but the Zebras' technical team opted for a central midfielder in Powell Abednico. But following his continued impressive performances for his side, Township Rollers, Koko has been given the nod together with 24 other locally based players. They will be in camp until next Sunday.

It is the second Zebras camp ever since the team returned from Gabon. Koko, however, did not make it to the first camp. His teammate, defender, Oscar Ncenga, also made it to the team following consistent performances in the past two seasons. The former Miscellaneous' defender has been manning Rollers' defence since the 2009-2010 season and bagged two league medals. He continues to do well for the national champions. Tshosane, who has just renewed his contract with the Botswana Football Association (BFA) for the next three years, has not included any surprise faces with almost all the players doing well currently in the league. The Nico United duo of Richard Legwaila and Kgosietsile Kufigwa have been rewarded for their sterling performances in the colours of Majombolo this season. Despite losing his place recently at the heart of log leaders, Chiefs' defence, Thabiso Khunwane has also made it into the team. The youngster's ability to read the game and his timely interventions at the back has made Chiefs' one of the difficult sides to break down. His teammates, Galabgwe Moyana and Kekaetswe Moloi, have also been called up to the camp. Only seven players in the team were part of the Botswana squad that made its AFCON finals debut in West Africa.
