First Division excluded from sponsorship talks

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has opened negotiations with Debswana Mining Company over the First Division League sponsorship, which elapses at the end of the season. BFA signed P6 million, three-year deal with the diamond mining giant at the start of the 2013/2014 season.

The BFA chief executive officer, Kitso Kemoeng told Mmegi Sport yesterday the negotiations have started but was not in a position to disclose further details. He said the evaluation of the previous partnership would influence the direction of the talks.

Kemoeng said he is hopeful Debswana would renew the sponsorship. He said most organisations always have their own focus and maybe Debswana now have a different focus besides football.
