GU: 2 (Kaelo Kgaswane, 36th, Tshepo Molefe, 69th)

FRANCISTOWN: Patrick Lenyeletse got ECCO City Greens back to winning ways when he scored twice in a 3-2 victory over faltering title challengers Gaborone United (GU) at the Francistown Stadium on Saturday.

It was an entertaining fast-paced game that allowed ECCO to torment GU goalkeeper Kgosietsile Senjoba all afternoon. After a long lay off that has seen him miss all the first round action so far, ECCO fielded forgotten midfielder Ontse Ntesa who proved invaluable on the day. The Francistown side took the lead as early as the 9th minute through Lenyeletse. It was 2-0 in the 29th minute when captain Malepa Bolelang weaved his way past the GU defence and goalkeeper to score easily. GU pulled one back just before halftime when Kaelo Kgaswane slammed in a spot-kick awarded after goalkeeper Michael Onkutule fouled Ronald Chikomo in the box. The Reds were a different lot in the second half when they introduced 'School Boy' Tshepo Molefe. They played brilliant football but ECCO killed the game in the 54th minute after a good combination between Lenyeletse and Mandlaenkosi Sibanda. After the exchange, Lenyeletse unleashed a thunderbolt into the GU net. Molefe replied for the Reds in the 69th minute, but the effort was not enough to inspire his side to prevent ECCO from collecting maximum points.
