RAMOTSWA: Speakers at the funeral of BDF XI defender, Donald 'Boboza' Thobega described him on Saturday as a disciplined and dedicated player.

Thobega who was hospitalised at the Princess Marina Hospital in Gaborone for almost three weeks after a car accident near Lobatse, died at the age of 35. Former teammate at Mogoditshane Fighters and close friend, Barney Marman described the departed star as a humble person who used to look after him very well. He said the accident has robbed him of a friend who used to do most of the household chores when they lived together.

"Though we at times had differences like in any household, I did enjoy staying with him. I also enjoyed playing alongside him at Fighters," he asserted.  Marman said the fact that Boboza was part of the Zebras For Life test campaign goes to show how responsible he was as a footballer. The Zebras' Test For Life campaign uses footballers to encourage the general public to guard against HIV/AIDS.
