Taking blues

The nation needs Mogae's donkey
For one reason or many, the donkey is the unluckiest animal species on planet earth, despite it having played many very important roles in the life of mankind.

Christians, for example, do not care about this animal despite reports in the bible that their man Jesus, got a ride on its back a few hours after he was born.  They hardly mention the donkey in their sermons or gatherings, as the most important animal that played a huge role in the birth of their religion - Christianity. How many times have you met a donkey cart, especially in rural areas where it is the most reliable mode of transport, doing at-least 20 kilometres per hour, and yet the donkeys continue to get a beating from the driver?  Where have you ever heard people calling for the protection of this animal?
People are cruel.  As you read this, there are homes for stray dogs, stray cats and others. There is advocation for the protection of animals, but none for the donkey as one of the animals facing cruelty.

Make a statement that you had donkey meat for lunch, or dinner to a group of people, and you will get the wreath of your words and the discomfort you will cause.  Tell your sweet thang that you are dating her to a donkey butchery, and you will definitely get a red card.  Poor thang!A few years ago, when former president Festus was on his way out, to give way to a Lieutenant General, one fellow offered a donkey as a present for the outgoing man, probably for his outstanding performance at the helm of this country.  The poor fellow was giving this present deep from his heart.  Only he knows why he chose the donkey.  Somehow, this poor donkey was not accepted.  We never got reasons why this donkey was rejected.  It will remain a mystery whether it was Festus who did not want the donkey, or it was his officials who did not accept it.  Again it will never be known whether this group of people had a problem with the animal donkey, or that poor donkey in particular.  Hmm!
Even he Mogae, never bothered to come forward to explain what exactly happened regarding the donkey present.
