Taking Risks: A Letter To Myself

A lot of you may not know this, but I am in the banking world. Through a lot of hard work, determination and a good attitude towards my work, I was blessed with opportunities that many people my age hardly get to be exposed to.

I was headhunted while working in South Africa, and asked to join a bank in Europe to be a specialist and help them build financial models.

I remember thinking, ‘This little African girl from Botswana!?’, ‘They must have got it all wrong’. The mere fact that I was African and a young woman made me feel unworthy of this position. Needless to say, I took the opportunity despite my doubts and was whisked off to Europe.
