Work hunters invade Ipelegeng

SELEBI-PHIKWE: An angry crowd of job seekers found itself in the midst of a stampede at the Kagiso Customary Court believing that the Selebi Phikwe Town Council and the Bontleng Ward Development Committee deprived them of a chance to be hired at the Ipelegeng Programme yesterday.

"They are now saying that a new list has to be made. I came here at 7am and right now I do not stand a chance of being registered because there are many people who want to be hired.

"I cannot stay in the queue because I am being pushed out. This is not fair. Why should they make a new list?"snapped a resident of Bontleng. Mogoza (52) said it was the first time he tried his luck in the Ipelegeng Programme because he is unemployed. He said he has three children in primary school. He was not happy with the system of hiring. He said though the money that Ipelegeng beneficiaries are getting is little, it is better than nothing.
