The Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC) report on Dr Kiran Bhagat revealed a number of serious anomalies in the way his Cardiac Clinic is being run. A secret report from the investigation conducted by a number of medical experts put into question various aspects of the practice including the validity of his qualifications, claims submitted to medical insurance schemes, his way of conducting investigations on patients and other issues.  The report says the investigations were instigated after Associated Fund Administrators (AFA) of Botswana complained to the BHPC about Bhagat's clinic. The AFA requested the audit of the establishment in 2008. AFA manages major medical insurance companies like the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BOPMAS) and Pula Medical Aid Scheme.
