Halaal, the method of killing animals under religious oversight, which makes food fit for consumption by Muslims, will no longer be a prerequisite for access to the lucrative meat market.

According to President Ian Khama's address yesterday, government is drafting a bill that provides for meat slaughtered outside of the Muslim method to be available to consumers.
