Mine employees cry foul

FRANCISTOWN: Some employees of the mining company Blasting and Excavating Botswana (B&E) are crying foul as they say management has reneged on their word.

Employees say that when the manager, Shane Hardy, recruited them from Mupane Gold mine he told them that there were better opportunities there than in Orapa.

One employee, who did not want to be identified, says that she was at Mupane Gold mine when she was told that Hardy wanted her and others to go and work at Damtshaa in Orapa on a three to five years contract. But to their shock, management recently told them that the contract is over though they have been in Orapa since April.
