Khama surprises many at HLCC meet

President Ian Khama threw many into pique yesterday when he broke long-standing traditions at the 25th Meeting of the High Level Consultative Council (HLCC) at the Pavilion, Boipuso Hall.

The height of his non-conformity was the President's opening remarks, usually the highlight of this once-a-year meeting. Scores of private sector players who were hoping to make contributions at the meeting were turned away at the door by plain-clothes intelligence officers for coming late.
