President Ian Khama drove only with his driver in his navy blue Range Rover on Saturday to go and enjoy the race spectacle, otherwise known as Mantshwabisi, at Kumakwane.

The absence of escort for the President in heavy traffic that forced motorists to drive at a very slow speed caused many to fear for the President's security. To survive the heavy traffic jam, President Khama's driver, however improvised, switching on the emergency lights of the Range Rover so that the President's car could drive in the other lane, facing oncoming traffic.

But with just a solitary car, many still feared for the President that his car could collide with others. When he returned from the fun however, the police team that was keeping peace and tranquility at Kumakwane, decided to offer the President the presidential escort he was lacking earlier on.Meanwhile President Khama is expected to put the issue about him and not reading books to rest this week when he opens a national library in Serowe.
