How BOPEU dumped joint agreement with BOFEPUSU

The Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) decided to dump the ‘acting jointly arrangement’ with other four recognised public sector unions last December, documents put before the Industrial Court have revealed.

Last week, the court learnt that BOPEU through its secretary general, Topias Marenga, wrote to the Director of Public Service Management, Ruth Maphorisa, requesting for the total unionised membership numbers under the employ of the DPSM.

BOPEU has taken the four public sector unions and Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) to court challenging the membership of the federation in the Public Sector Bargaining Council (PSBC).
