The Department of Meteorological Services has detected the possibility of a heat wave in Kgalagadi. This follows reports in South Africa that there is a heat wave that has affected the extreme western part of the North West.

The department says temperatures are expected to go up to 41 degrees celsius in the Kgalagadi beginning Thursday going into the weekend. In an interview, the Principal Meteorologist, Radithupa Radithupa, said the heat wave in South Africa would affect most areas in Kgalagadi.

Radithupa said: “We have detected uncomfortable rise in temperatures in those areas in the coming days going into the weekend. Remember, Kgalagadi is also known for its high temperatures.
