Govt, BOFEPUSU Headed For Clash Over BPOMAS

The government and Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) are headed for a showdown over the composition of the Botswana Public Officers' Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS) management committee.

On March 27 this year, BPOMAS chairperson Dr Kolaatamo Malefho wrote to management committee of the scheme, which currently comprises 12 members, amongst them four BOFEPUSU affiliates, informing them about BPOMAS' rules review. 

BOFEPUSU members on the management committee come from the Botswana Public Employees' Union (BOPEU), Botswana Teachers Union (BTU), Botswana Land Boards and Local Authorities Health Workers Union (BLLAHWU) and National Amalgamated Local and Central Government and Parastatal Manual Workers Union (NALCGPMWU).
