It has been reported that five people out of the 55 on board the TEE PEE bus that overturned in Palapye in the early hours of Sunday morning have been seriously injured and are currently hospitilised at different hospitals.

The 43-year-old woman who was driving the VW Polo that was trying to overtake another car, and ended up hitting the front wheel of the bus is said to have sustained fractured thigh and hand injuries. The bus overturned.

The accident occurred Sunday early morning in Extension 11, Palapye along the A1 road. In an interview with MmegiOnline, Palapye police station commander Superintendent, Molly Lebala-Moduke, said the VW Polo was trying to overtake and ended up hitting the front wheel of an oncoming bus.

"The night bus that was heading to Francistown from Gaborone had 55 passengers and five of them sustained serious injuries and are currently hospitalized, but they are in a stable condition in different hospitals. The VW Polo driver is hospitalized at Mahalapye hospital also in a stable condition," she said.
