Chinese ambassador hails Botswana-China cooperation

The new Chinese ambassador to Botswana, Zheng Zhuqiang, has hailed the cooperation of both nations over the last 38 years saying it has yielded fruitful achievements and brought great benefits to both peoples.

Ambassador Zheng, speaking at a children's event put together by the Masitara Foundation and the Chinese Women Association of Botswana said China has taken concrete measures to promote the educational cooperation with Botswana.  Up to now, he elaborated, China has built two primary schools on gratis basis and provided hundreds of professional training opportunities and government scholarships for young Botswana.

Besides the efforts of the Chinese government, Zheng said the Chinese community and organisations such as Botswana-China Friendship Association, the Charity Association of Chinese in Botswana and the Chinese Women's Association of Botswana are also committed to promoting exchanges and understanding among the people of the two countries.
