Botswana to benefit from South Sudan relations

MMADINARE: The Minister of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, has said that Botswana stands to benefit from its bilateral relations with South Sudan.

At the official opening of Mmadinare Senior Secondary School on Tuesday, the minister explained that Botswana can get a good market for its products in South Sudan, especially veterinary vaccines because the country has more than 30 million cattle. She said South Sudan is an oil rich country and this means it can afford to pay for the vaccines.

Venson-Moitoi pointed out that Botswana has an oversupply of teachers that can be sent to South Sudan. She said Botswana has pledged to assist South Sudan in the field of education and agriculture. She said the President of South Sudan, General Salva Kiir Mayardit has been a friend to Botswana long before he knew he was going to lead his country. She said Kiir came to Botswana when he was still fighting for the liberation of his country.
