Just before the party’s leadership forum began with a prayer, its chairperson Dr Patrick Molutsi addressed the matter directly. "We are kindly asking those who went against the party and contested as independent candidates to excuse us. If you wish to rejoin the BNF, you must apply through the party's lower structures, which will then make their recommendations. "It is not automatic to jump in and out of the party at will. This forum is strictly for BNF leaders and members, and only delegates are allowed to attend," he stated.
Molutsi further emphasised that even though the BNF may launch recruitment drives, the party must carefully screen potential members. He reminded attendees that no individual is greater than the organisation and highlighted that former members wishing to return must follow the same application process as new ones, without exception. Additionally, Molutsi urged those responsible for handling membership applications to ensure the process remains fair and impartial. He stressed that favouritism must not influence decisions, pointing out the importance of having active party structures in place to support and integrate new members effectively. To reinforce the party's principles, Molutsi called for the revival of political education to ensure members understand the BNF’s values and beliefs.
He bemoaned that some individuals are party members without adequate knowledge of the organisation's constitution or principles. He encouraged members to familiarise themselves with the party's constitution, underscoring its importance in guiding their actions. Moreover, Molutsi advised members with grievances to use the appropriate party structures to voice their concerns. He reiterated that these structures exist to maintain order and must be respected. "Party structures are there to be used. People must know and respect them. The central committee has its own rules, as do other structures," he said.
