BDP suspends truant cllrs

MAUN: The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has suspended party members who defied the party caucus during the chairmanship elections of North West District Council (NWDC) recently.

Secretary of BDP North West Region, Tebogo Domi Bethia confirmed to Mmegi that the BDP disciplinary committee has suspended Duncan Enga and Vepaune Moreti for 90 days. The suspensions were served on the duo on Thursday last week.

Recently Enga and Moreti who were not endorsed by a party caucus went and contested for council leadership elections. Enga beat Reaboka Mbulawa who had been chosen by the caucus for the NWDC chairmanship while Moreti won the deputy chairmanship for the Maun Administrative Authority, beating Nico Folae who had also been chosen by the caucus.
