Batsile laid to rest

KANYE: Former Kanye North Member of Parliament (MP) Calvin Batsile was laid to rest in Kanye on Saturday.

Batsile died last week after succumbing to a long illness. Speakers at his funeral showered him with praise and described him as a hard worker.

Speaking on behalf of Parliament, Palapye MP, Moiseraela Goya described Batsile as a loving and hard working person and told Bangwaketse that they were lucky to have been represented by him. He said during the time when he was a parliamentarian he worked well with other MPs even those from opposing parties. "He was a true gentleman who was always clean and loving," Goya said. He added that Batsile was a good speaker who was eloquent in both English and Setswana.
