In a joyful celebration of youthful talent, creativity and cultural expression, students from government secondary schools, joined by learners from Ikageng Primary School, lit up the stage at Northside Primary Theatre over the weekend in a spectacular production of The Wiz.

The musical showcased not only the remarkable abilities of Botswana's young performers but also the transformative power of theatre to inspire confidence, teamwork and artistic excellence. It was presented through collaboration between New York-based non-profit Arts Ignite and the Botswana Secondary Schools Drama Association (BOSSDA). From the opening moments, the cast captivated audiences with infectious energy, polished choreography and commanding vocal performances.

Every song was delivered with conviction, every dance sequence executed with precision, and every character was brought vividly to life.
