Jeepers BW, a dynamic and passionate community of Jeep enthusiasts driven by a shared love for adventure and making a difference, will host its flagship event dubbed Jeepers Botswana: Journey of Hope on March 28-30.

The event promises to be a unique blend of camaraderie, adventure, and a heartfelt mission to support the Mochudi Resource Centre for the Blind (MRCB). In a statement, Jeepers BW said MRCB stands as a beacon of hope for visually impaired children and their families across Botswana. As the only facility in the country offering specialised education, rehabilitation, and residential services for visually impaired children, MRCB also runs Botswana’s sole preschool tailored for their unique needs. The Journey of Hope event aims to raise critical funds and awareness for the centre, to enable it to continue its extraordinary work. From teaching independence to nurturing young minds, MRCB’s services transform lives and embody the spirit of resilience and inclusion.

The event organisers said proceeds from the Journey of Hope event will directly fund urgent needs at MRCB, ensuring that the centre continues to provide quality services. These needs include two washing machines to support daily operations, a fridge to enhance the preschool’s facilities two geysers for essential hostel amenities and 15 sets of winter sheets to keep children warm during chilly nights. Other needs to be bought include four desktop computers to facilitate modern learning tools, five Perkin Braille machines and five boxes of Braille paper to empower children’s education as well as maintenance services for classrooms and hostels, including repairs to windows, doors, tiles, and painting.
