Musanani burial society a success

Natale, situated just 32 kilometres west of Francistown and along the busy Orapa-Francistown road, last weekend held an annual general meeting of the vibrant Musanani Burial Society, also combined with end of the year celebrations.

'Musanani' is an Ikalanga word that means 'to uplift one another'. The society was formed to uplift the standard of life in the village.Elders dominated attendance because the majority of the youth are employed in urban areas.

The elders were most vibrant, chatting and laughing in high tones. Mboni Mokgathi, who is also head of midwifery department at the Francistown Institute of Health Sciences (IHS), said that the idea of a burial society came from the old men.
