New firm aims to ‘Save’ consumers

A new company, Before-You-Buy (BYB), has committed itself to assisting consumers understand the dynamics of purchasing by using research and technological advancements.

The company, which was established six months ago, is set to change consumers’ lives for the better, according to its founders.

“Before-You-Buy is here to make life simpler through provision of information on products that consumers use on a daily basis, from skincare, foodstuffs and baby products to hardware,” research director, Blaga Miteva told Business Monitor.

She explained that they offer expert reviews on products that consumers buy in supermarkets and recommend tips on buying the best products.

Miteva further said they currently interact with more than 4,000 consumers mostly via their Facebook page. “We work hard to help consumers get products if they cannot find them and also give them recipes for easy and quick meals,” she said.

According to the research director, some products such as Johnson’s Baby Lotion can be used as a mosquito repellent, something she said most consumers did not know. “It is such discoveries that consumers need to know in order to make their lives easier,” said Miteva.

The inspiration behind the formation of the company came after the BYB team had walked into various supermarkets and found products that they knew little about, but which held the promise of being important.

They realised that they should research products so that they can offer expert advice on them. BYB also teaches consumers about Do-it-Yourself (DIY) projects by posting videos or recipes for consumers to see.

“Research is done on products to give accurate information and helpful tips are given to improve people’s lives.

For the brand conscious consumers, this is the best company to follow on social networks to get all the information,” Miteva stressed.

To add icing to the cake, the company is giving away loads of freebies to consumers. Over P30,000 has already been spent in freebies, hampers and prizes that have been distributed to lucky consumers all around the country.
