Firestone aims to raise P137 million

Firestone Diamonds has made a conditional placement of 52 million new ordinary shares of 20 pence with institutional and other investors at a price of 25 pence "per placing share" to raise P137 million ($20.3 million).

The company, which opened its first diamond tender in Gaborone last week, says the placing price is the closing middle-market price of 25 pence per ordinary share on December 2.

Proceeds will enable financing an "accelerated development" of the main pipe at Liqhobong in Lesotho where Plant 1 is scheduled to commence production in the first quarter 2011. Funding will also complete the definitive feasibility study for Plant 2 to be undertaken in 2011.
