Egg fried rice Egg fried rice is a popular dish I love for its simplicity and versatility. I keep hearing on cooking shows and reading recipes among culinary enthusiasts advice that the use of frozen rice is better than freshly cooked rice.

While some insist that frozen rice gets you the best results in egg fried rice preparation, I find it challenging to take a stance. For sure there are advantages to using frozen rice, especially in terms of convenience and time efficiency. However, one must also consider it only takes eight minutes for a freshly prepared pot of basmati rice. Frozen rice can be heated rapidly in a microwave or a skillet, allowing for a swift putting together of the meal. This efficiency is especially best for those with busy schedules who may not have the luxury of cooking rice from scratch every time they want egg fried rice. Cooking with love and dedication only to have my efforts disregarded sometimes leaves me exasperated (one of hubby’s fave words) some times nkare nka screamer when these boys want to not pick.

If you have been following Chellzkitchen over the years, you know that Shalom does not eat eggs when he can see them. If they are used to make a dessert or any kind of bread he will eat it. By virtue of being 13 and feeling a certain amount of I’m growd up, Big Brother as of recent has taken a break from eggs. This is why when I dished his egg fried rice and he pushed it away, I completely threw my toy’s out of the cot. There was so little egg in the rice, he changed his mind after a little bit, not only did he change his mind he came back for seconds. Parenting is not for the faint hearted. It’s a different league. The versatility in egg fried rice invites creativity in the kitchen. I love to experiment with various ingredients such as bell peppers, peas, or even protein sources like chicken or tofu where we gave dietary preferences. It is this flexibility which lets me be free to use what I have on hand, promoting sustainability in food consumption, nothing goes to waste. Sharing this dish fosters connections among diners. The use of chopsticks to enjoy egg fried rice adds an element of fun and cultural appreciation to the dining experience. Teaching someone how to use chopsticks not only enhances their enjoyment but also serves as a means to engage with culinary traditions from different cultures. I remember IN one Of the Table Talks the use of chopsticks was embraced with mixed reactions. If you’re looking for a good recipe to try, I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

Khama, Masisi should rise above personal differences

Hurt as he may have been, former president Ian Khama, Sir Seretse’s senior son who was given an opportunity to speak on behalf of the Seretse family, couldn’t mince his words as he took advantage to shred his successor Mokgweetsi Masisi to pieces. He, however, did not clearly mention names but he referred to Masisi as the leader of a political party that was founded amongst others by his father. He would also address him as the former State...
