Samantha hopes to scale mountains as a singer

She is young, vibrant, beautiful, full of life and mostly she aims to take the music industry by storm.

Highly gifted 24-year-old Samantha Bwalya Mogwe started singing in her church youth group where many saw talent in her and encouraged her to enter various competitions so she could actualize her musical talent. She tells Showbiz that she joined the My African Dream (MAD) competition back in 2003 where she impressed many with her amazing voice, this was briefly followed by Gabz Karaoke Idols competition in 2004. Again she managed to give people a night to remember and finally she was among the African Idols in 2008.

"I also used to sing at the regular Exodus Live Poetry events and their annual Infinite Word festival, they were years of learning and a time of refining my craft but the career element of it truly began for me at the end of 2011 when I decided that this is what I wanted to pursue and I was ready for the challenges," she says. She points out that she decided to follow the music route, as she has always believed that everybody is created for a purpose and hers was being a singer.  "I also wanted to make a difference in the lives of people by changing mindsets and music, being my passion, seemed to be the right tool that I could use, as I can communicate so many issues, encourage people by giving them hope and joy therefore allowing them to see realities that are there in our society," she says.
