Miss Millennium Charity Organisation launched

Miss Millennium Charity Organisation was launched on Sunday at a fund raising dinner hosted by Miss Millennium, Patience Motlhabi. The event, which also featured performances by local artists, was held at the Millennium Jazz restaurant.

The coordinator of Miss Millennium, Lucia Molebatsi Seretse explained that the organisation is a Non Government Organisation (NGO) that will coordinate the activities of Miss Millennium.  She added that the organisation, which will have a board of trustees, will be autonomous from the Millennium restaurant and will be engaged in hosting  fund raising events."Setting up the organisation is one of the challenges that the current Miss Millennium, Motlhabi will be faced with, but it will be easy for Miss Millennium to spread her wings through her participation in the Miss Millennium Charity Organisation," Seretse said.

Meanwhile, Seretse said even though the fund raising dinner wasn't highly attended, she still deems the event a success because it helped to get the message of the organisation across.  She said the dinner dance was also successful thanks to the stellar performances by the artists.  She added that some of the audience was made up of visitors from South Africa who were really wowed by the local artists' performances."We were pleased to have artists like Lister Boleseng, Kearoma Rantao and the Stampore Trio perform at the fund raising dinner," said Seretse who was also pleased to note that Kearoma took advantage of her performance that night to promote her new album.
