Gospel duo GK releases debut album

Botswana's first male gospel duo, Gaone Seitshiro and Kago Regoeng, artistically named GK, have dropped their debut album, Let Us Pray.

The album was recently sampled to revellers who attended the Jam'N Christ Show held at the Gaborone Sun. Launched in 2009, GK says they had been working on this album for quite a while.  Seasoned producer and singer Tshepo T'Les Lesole had the 12-track album recorded at Gaborone's HiNote Studio.  According to a press release by the group, seven of the 12 songs are original compositions by Kago Regoeng, Samuel Moshodi and Tshepo Lesole, while the rest are medleys from Sione hymns as well as popular gospel tunes.

Seithiro had been a member of the famous KTM Choir, which groomed him as a tenor singer. While with the KTM Choir he led the song Mosaid in the choir's recording, Molodi wa pina. Regoeng is also a former KTM Choir baritone. He describes himself as a soloist, gospel musician, producer and composer. He recently performed alongside fellow baritone Gape Motswaledi at the Maitisong festival in a show titled Crossover.
