For the first time since 2019, a full football league was played and completed. A three-year hiatus was worth the wait as the action on the field brought the necessary thrills. Ratanang-gate takes the spotlight

Pundits and fans alike would agree the football on the field was better than in recent years. However, boardroom squabbles took the shine away from the pitch. Just as the final 10 games stretch got underway, questions were raised over Township Rollers’ defender, Onkarabile Ratanang’s registration. After an investigation, the Player’s Status Committee found Rollers guilty of improperly registering Ratanang and the club faces sanctions. The Disciplinary Committee was expected to deliver the verdict on the matter on Wednesday evening after two postponements. The matter brought chaos to the local game as Ratanang-like cases are mushrooming.
