Mochudi Centre Chiefs’ head coach, Oupa Kowa is rallying his troops ahead 2023-2024 Debswana First Division South league.

Kowa anticipates a hard campaign as he targets promotion to the top tier league. Chiefs are once again natural contenders for promotion. But the next campaign could be the hardest in the lower division. The Botswana Football League (BFL) has announced plans to cut Premier League teams to 12 after the next campaign. Four teams are expected to relegate while there will be a single promotional spot in the second tier leagues. Magosi find themselves in the midst of fallen giants including, Extension Gunners, Notwane, Mogoditshane Fighters and Prisons Xi.

Kowa since said he wants his players to taste the ‘best feeling’ ever as he sets eyes on the league championship. “We need to start well, it is always hard whether you are up there or bottom there. It will be hard to try to get out relegation and it will also be hard to stay and maintain the top spot. So everywhere is hard but as long as you believe, I even told the boys that there is no better feeling better than winning the league championship, it is better than S.E.X, I am telling you it is better S.E.X,” Kowa said. Chiefs played their old time rivals, Township Rollers at the Royal Aria Stadium on Saturday in a pre-season friendly match. Ofentse Chitutu’s first half goal separated the two teams as Magosi claimed the bragging rights in the afternoon.
